Veterans and Families
Every year, for the past five years, Senior Link has partnered with generous sponsors to host a banquet
for the veterans we have featured in our fall issue. Unfortunately, the restrictions due to the pandemic
forced us to cancel our luncheon this year. We regret that we did not get to honor you all together on
Purple Heart Day as planned. However, we are happy to be able to offer a small token commemorating
your service, your sacrifice, and your willingness to share your story with us. Each of you will receive
a challenge coin displaying the Gold Star and Purple Heart Medal pictured on the cover of this special
keepsake issue. Many thanks to Lou Ortiz, Kyle Chapman and Texas Tech Military and Veterans Alumni
Network for their generous support in sponsoring the coin and to ABC Bank for the coin cases.
