After retiring in 1990, I worked for H&R Block for
two years. After my husband retired in 1992, we were
fortunate to have the opportunity to travel for extended
periods of time. We bought an RV and hit the road. We
drove to Alaska, went gold panning and fly fishing in
Colorado, worked as park rangers at Carlsbad Caverns
National Park (NP), and volunteered at the Guadalupe
Mountains NP. The beach was our favorite place,
especially camping on Padre Island National Seashore.
Throughout my career and retirement, education
was important. I continued attending various schools
including spending three months living with a family in
Mexico immersing in the Spanish language, receiving a
MS from Hardin Simmons, an MBA at Abilene Christian Shepherd King Lutheran Church
University, and an MS in Geology (biostratigraphy) at Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
